Speedflow Alloy weld-on AN Male Fitting
This Speedflow weld-on AN male bung creates a permanent threaded AN port right on the component you’re fabricating. Once welded in, the fitting accepts any matching AN hose end or flare adapter, making it ideal for combustion, cooling, fuel, turbo oil feed/return, and performance fluid systems.
Unlike pushlock or barbed fittings, AN flare connections are mechanically sealed with a 37° metal-to-metal flare seat — the same style used in motorsport and aerospace.
What are you looking at here?
A male AN flare bung
Weld-on (no threads on one side)
The AN male thread is on the other side
Real-world tips
Use this when you want a true AN port in alloy components
Best choice for fuel systems, turbo oil feeds/returns, coolant swirl pots, breather housings, fuel pumps & tanks
No thread sealant or Teflon needed — the seal happens at the flare, not the thread
Stronger and more serviceable than tapping NPT inside alloy
Makes the fabrication look “engineered”, not improvised
Speedflow Alloy weld-on AN Male Fitting FAQ
Q: Do I need thread sealant on an AN fitting?
A: No — AN fittings seal on the 37° flare seat, not the thread. Sealant is unnecessary and can actually interfere with the seal.
Q: What’s the difference between this and ORB?
A: AN seals on the flare (metal-to-metal). ORB seals using an O-ring inside the port. Both use straight threads, but AN is used for hose connections and ORB is used for ports.
Q: Where would I typically use an AN weld-on bung?
A: Perfect for swirl pots, fuel tanks, dry sump tanks, turbo drain returns, radiator tanks, breathers and manifolds — anywhere you want a permanent AN port.
Q: Why would I choose weld-on instead of a bulkhead fitting?
A: Packaging, strength and cleanliness. Welded bungs look neater, won’t loosen, and remove the need for washers or lock nuts.
Why Lowe Fab Choose Speedflow
At Lowe Fab, we back Australian-made whenever possible — not just as a slogan, but because it consistently delivers better results on the bench and in the car. Speedflow fittings are designed, engineered and manufactured in Australia, using premium materials and modern in-house tooling that puts reliability ahead of marketing hype. These aren’t rebranded imports — they’re the real deal.
From a fabricator’s point of view, the quality difference is immediate:
The alloy welds cleaner
The machining is more accurate
The sealing faces are consistent
The threads don’t gall or tear
The tolerances are motorsport-grade, not “close enough”
When you’re building fuel systems, catch cans, reservoirs, surge tanks or anything mission-critical, cheap fittings create rework. Speedflow eliminates that risk. They fit right, weld right, and seal right — every time.
We don’t just sell them — we use them exclusively on our own builds.
Because when performance, safety and presentation matter, Speedflow is the benchmark.
