Haltech Nexus T2 ECU
The Haltech Nexus T2 brings the latest generation of Haltech Nexus engine management to compact, cost-effective street and performance applications requiring control of up to six cylinders.
Designed as the successor to the hugely popular Haltech Elite 750, the Nexus T2 supports naturally aspirated and forced-induction engines with up to 6 cylinders or 3 rotors, making it an excellent choice for everything from turbo six-cylinder street cars to performance rotary applications.
Housed in a rugged IP66 environmentally sealed enclosure, the T2 combines 6 fuel and 6 ignition channels with an internal 4 Bar MAP sensor, Wi-Fi connectivity, USB-C communication, 32MB onboard data logging and a built-in 4-channel oscilloscope.
The Nexus T2 uses Haltech’s latest Nexus Software Programmer (NSP), bringing the tuning flexibility, diagnostics and user experience of the current Nexus platform to a compact standalone ECU.
Haltech Nexus T2 ECU – The New Generation Elite 750
For years, the Elite 750 has been a popular choice for relatively straightforward six-cylinder and rotary performance applications.
The Nexus T2 is its modern successor.
It retains the concept of a compact, cost-effective standalone ECU while moving to the current Nexus ecosystem and adding modern features including Wi-Fi connectivity, USB-C, onboard logging and an integrated oscilloscope.
For a new build that would previously have called for an Elite 750, the Nexus T2 is the logical place to start.
Haltech Nexus T2 ECU – Ideal for 6-Cylinder Performance Builds
With six injection and six ignition channels, the T2 is particularly well suited to popular six-cylinder performance engines.
It supports load sensing via MAP, TPS or MAF, along with sequential, semi-sequential, batch and multipoint injection strategies and direct-fire multi-coil, distributor or compatible Haltech CDI ignition configurations.
The ECU is suitable for both naturally aspirated and boosted applications.
Typical applications include:
- Naturally aspirated 4 and 6-cylinder engines
- Turbocharged and supercharged 4 and 6-cylinder engines
- Up to 3-rotor rotary engines
- Performance street cars
- Club-level motorsport
- Engine conversions requiring standalone management
- Flex-fuel applications
- Vehicles upgrading from older standalone ECUs
- Applications previously suited to the Haltech Elite 750

Haltech Nexus T2 ECU – Advanced Fuel & Ignition Control
The Nexus T2 supports sequential, semi-sequential, batch and multipoint injection strategies, allowing the ECU to be configured around a wide range of engine combinations.
Its six ignition channels support direct-fire multi-coil applications along with distributor ignition and compatible Haltech CDI systems.
Low-impedance injectors are also supported through programmable peak-and-hold injector current control.
Haltech Nexus T2 ECU – Closed Loop Boost Control
For turbocharged and supercharged applications, the T2 features sophisticated 4D closed-loop boost control with learning.
Flexible user-definable axes and multiple correction strategies allow boost targets to be influenced by parameters such as:
- Gear
- Road speed
- Engine conditions
- Other available ECU channels
This gives tuners considerably more flexibility than a simple fixed boost target or conventional high/low boost switch.
Flex Fuel Control
A compatible flex-fuel sensor can be connected directly to the Nexus T2.
Fuel delivery, ignition timing and boost strategies can then be calibrated according to measured ethanol content, allowing the ECU to dynamically adapt to changing fuel blends.
Rather than relying on basic dual mapping, NSP allows ethanol content to become another tuning axis within the calibration.
Closed Loop O2 & Long-Term Learning
When used with a compatible external Haltech CAN O2 Wideband Controller, the Nexus T2 supports closed-loop O2 control with long-term learning.
This can assist with maintaining accurate fuelling while providing valuable feedback for tuning and diagnostics.
Up to three wideband O2 channels can be connected through compatible CAN expansion devices.
Variable Cam Control
The Nexus T2 can independently control up to two variable camshafts, provided the required user-definable inputs and outputs are available within the particular installation.
This makes the T2 suitable for a wide variety of later-model performance engines while retaining its compact I/O architecture.
Haltech Nexus T2 ECU – Advanced Tuning with NSP
The Nexus T2 uses Haltech’s current-generation Nexus Software Programmer (NSP).
NSP provides extensive tuning flexibility through 4D tuning tables with resolution up to 32 x 32 x 8, 3D per-cylinder compensations and multiple user-definable corrections.
Depending on the vehicle and available sensors, tuning strategies can incorporate channels including:
- Manifold pressure
- Throttle position
- Camshaft position
- Ethanol content
- Gear
- Road speed
- Race time
- EGT
- Shock travel
- Ride height
- Other available ECU channels
The result is an engine management system that can be calibrated around the requirements of the complete vehicle rather than simply switching between traditional fixed maps.
Haltech Nexus T2 ECU – Data Logging & Diagnostics
Despite its compact size, the Nexus T2 incorporates serious diagnostic capability.
The ECU features 32MB of onboard data logging in addition to laptop logging, supporting up to 300 channels per log with sampling frequencies up to 1kHz.
A built-in 4-channel oscilloscope provides tuners and technicians with a powerful diagnostic tool for analysing trigger signals and other inputs directly through the ECU.
USB-C provides high-speed wired laptop communication, while integrated Wi-Fi adds modern wireless connectivity.
Haltech Nexus T2 ECU – CAN Integration
The Nexus T2 features a CAN network for integration with compatible:
- Haltech digital dashes
- CAN wideband controllers
- Haltech expansion devices
- Supported displays
- OBDII applications
This allows the installation to be expanded as the vehicle evolves without necessarily requiring a larger ECU from day one.
Haltech Nexus T2 ECU – Additional ECU Functions
Depending on configuration and available inputs and outputs, the Nexus T2 supports an extensive range of advanced strategies including:
- Launch control
- Traction control
- Rolling anti-lag
- Anti-lag / rotational idle
- Advanced flat shift
- Trans brake control
- Up to 6 stages of nitrous control
- Multi-level engine protection
- Race timer
- Closed-loop idle speed control
- Intake air bleed control
- EGT monitoring through CAN expansion

- CAN dash and expansion integration
Haltech Nexus T2 ECU – Fully Enabled – No Feature Unlock Fees
The Nexus T2 comes fully enabled.
There are no additional software charges required to unlock its advanced ECU functions, allowing the available functionality to be used as the vehicle and calibration evolve.
Is the Haltech Nexus T2 ECU Right for Your Build?
For a naturally aspirated or boosted engine requiring up to six fuel and six ignition channels, the Nexus T2 offers a very compelling balance of price, size and capability.
It’s particularly attractive for six-cylinder and rotary performance builds that don’t require drive-by-wire throttle control or the substantially larger I/O and integrated power-management capabilities of Haltech’s higher-level Nexus products.
If you’re building a straightforward performance car that would previously have been a natural candidate for an Elite 750, the Nexus T2 is the modern Haltech solution.
Not Sure Which Haltech ECU You Need?
Choosing an ECU based purely on cylinder count can leave you short of inputs, outputs or functionality later in the build.
