Haltech Nexus T1 Standalone ECU
The Haltech Nexus T1 brings the latest generation of Haltech Nexus engine management to compact, cost-effective street and performance applications.
Designed as the successor to the popular Haltech Elite 550, the Nexus T1 is ideal for naturally aspirated and forced-induction 4-cylinder engines and 2-rotor rotary engines, giving tuners complete control over fuel delivery, ignition timing, boost control and a huge range of engine management strategies.
Housed in a rugged IP66 environmentally sealed enclosure, the T1 combines 4 fuel and 4 ignition channels with an internal 4 Bar MAP sensor, Wi-Fi connectivity, USB-C communication, 32MB onboard data logging and a built-in 4-channel oscilloscope.
Best of all, the Nexus T1 runs Haltech’s latest Nexus Software Programmer (NSP), bringing the functionality and user experience of the Nexus platform to a new entry-level standalone ECU.
Haltech Nexus T1 ECU – Ideal For Street & Performance Builds
The Nexus T1 is an excellent choice for relatively straightforward engine combinations that need the flexibility and tuning capability of a proper standalone ECU without paying for unnecessary additional channels.
It supports load sensing via MAP, TPS or MAF, multiple injection strategies, direct-fire multi-coil or distributor ignition systems and both naturally aspirated and boosted applications.
Typical applications include:
- Naturally aspirated 4-cylinder performance engines
- Turbocharged and supercharged 4-cylinder engines
- 2-rotor rotary engines
- Street and club-level motorsport vehicles
- Engine conversions requiring standalone management
- Flex-fuel conversions
- Vehicles upgrading from older-generation standalone ECUs

Haltech Nexus T1 ECU – Advanced Engine Management
Don’t let the T1’s position in the Nexus range fool you. There’s a serious amount of engine management capability packed into this compact ECU.
Fuel & Ignition Control
The Nexus T1 supports sequential, semi-sequential, batch and multipoint injection strategies, along with direct-fire multi-coil, distributor and compatible Haltech CDI ignition configurations.
Low-impedance injectors are supported through programmable peak-and-hold injector current control.
Closed Loop Boost Control
For forced-induction applications, the T1 offers 4D closed-loop boost control with learning, along with multiple user-definable correction strategies.
This allows boost targets to be adjusted using parameters such as gear, road speed and other available ECU channels.
Flex Fuel
A flex-fuel sensor can be connected directly to the ECU, allowing fuel, ignition and boost strategies to be adjusted according to measured ethanol content.
Rather than simply switching between two maps, NSP’s advanced tuning strategies allow the calibration to respond dynamically to the fuel actually in the vehicle.
Closed Loop O2 & Long-Term Learning
With a compatible external Haltech CAN wideband controller, the Nexus T1 supports closed-loop O2 control and long-term fuel learning for improved calibration accuracy and consistency.
Up to three wideband O2 channels can be connected using compatible CAN expansion devices.
Variable Cam Control
The Nexus T1 can independently control up to two variable camshafts, subject to the required user-definable inputs and outputs being available for the application.
Haltech Nexus T1 ECU – Serious Tuning Capability with NSP
The Nexus T1 uses Haltech’s modern Nexus Software Programmer (NSP) rather than the previous-generation Elite software.
NSP provides extensive tuning flexibility with 4D tuning tables up to 32 x 32 x 8 resolution, 3D per-cylinder corrections and multiple user-definable correction strategies.
Calibration can incorporate channels including:
- Manifold pressure
- Throttle position
- Camshaft position
- Ethanol content
- Gear
- Road speed
- Race time
- EGT
- Shock travel
- Ride height
- Other available ECU channels
This gives professional tuners enormous flexibility to build a calibration around the vehicle rather than being restricted to basic traditional dual-map strategies.
Haltech Nexus T1 ECU – Data Logging & Diagnostics
The Nexus T1 includes 32MB of onboard data logging as well as laptop logging capability, allowing up to 300 channels per log with sampling frequencies of up to 1kHz.
A built-in 4-channel oscilloscope provides an extremely useful diagnostic tool for analysing trigger signals and other inputs directly through the ECU.
The T1 can also communicate with compatible Haltech dashes, CAN expansion devices and supported OBDII systems through its CAN network.
Haltech Nexus T1 ECU – Additional ECU Functions
Depending on configuration and available inputs/outputs, the Nexus T1 supports an extensive range of advanced functions including:
- Launch control
- Traction control
- Rolling anti-lag
- Anti-lag / rotational idle
- Advanced flat shift
- Trans brake control
- Up to 6 stages of nitrous control
- Multi-level engine protection
- Race timer
- Intake air bleed control
- Closed-loop idle speed control
- EGT monitoring via CAN expansion
- Shock travel and ride-height strategies
- CAN dash and expansion device integration
HAltech NExus T1 ECU – Fully Enabled – No Feature Unlock Fees
The Nexus T1 is supplied fully enabled, with no additional software charges required to unlock its advanced ECU functionality.
That makes it an especially attractive choice for customers who want a modern standalone ECU for a relatively simple engine combination while retaining access to the sophisticated tuning and protection strategies available within the Nexus platform.
Is the Haltech Nexus T1 ECU Right for Your Build?
For a 4-cylinder or 2-rotor engine that doesn’t require drive-by-wire throttle control or the much larger I/O capacity of Haltech’s higher-level Nexus ECUs, the T1 represents a very capable and cost-effective solution.
It combines the essentials required for proper standalone engine management with modern connectivity, powerful logging, advanced tuning strategies and the latest Haltech NSP software.
For customers replacing an older Elite 550 or planning a new straightforward street-performance ECU installation, the Nexus T1 is the logical entry point into Haltech’s current Nexus range.
